Choosing a dog or cat seems easy only at first glance. In most cases, acquiring a puppy or kitten, the owners do not fully imagine who will enter their lives and share their need for communication and emotional affection. Especially when it comes to an animal shelter: sad, but filled with love, eyes of abandoned puppies play a decisive role here.
Therefore, three activists from Modena decided to create a website (www.bestiacce.com), which will allow a more rational approach to the choice of a four-legged satellite. The portal is designed so that a noble impulse does not result in a series of disappointments with all the ensuing consequences, when the owner does not know how to deal with the pet, and he, in turn, does not understand the person.
Similar projects already exist in the USA and Switzerland: pet dating websites reminiscent of similar portals where people meet people.
Feature of Bestiacce is a clear classification of all cats and dogs according to their temperament and behavior. At the same time, the assessment of the “wards” is carried out exclusively according to scientific criteria - one of the three organizers of the project, Giulia Beltrami, a zoologist by education and consulted with experts from the University of Parma and helped her by Clizia Welker (Clizia Welker , Roberta Chelotti). The formed categories of the girl are described as follows: “We divided all of our wards into the following groups: free spirit, pajamas, violets, a joker, a personal assistant and a volcano. Characters for every taste and every need, depending on the person’s lifestyle and composition of his family” . For example, “violets” are calm and a little shy, “pajamas” are lazy and like to sleep, but the boiling energy of “volcanoes” is almost impossible to calm down.
But since it all depends on the future owner, in order to choose the four-legged friend correctly, site visitors should first describe themselves: the situation in the family, the presence of children, daily habits.
“Tell us who you are and we will give you the perfect dog or cat for you,” says Bestiacce. “Not a breed, not a color, not a size. You won’t choose your spouse for your hair color. Every day we play with fate, trying to pick up soul mates between a dog (or cat) and its owner. But our actions are based on a careful study of the characteristics of temperament and behavior. "
Basically, the site contains adult animals with an already established character: and to some extent this is even their advantage over small puppies and kittens, which may form character traits that are unexpected for the owner, depending on the characteristics of the environment. Having chosen an animal on the site, a person goes to the nursery to see if his sympathy is mutual. This service is called “Smart Match,” a smart meeting, and it’s free: if you feel true love, the “adoption” procedure will go without problems. The site also guarantees its customers the implementation of additional services at reduced rates from partners of the program: veterinarians and dog handlers, in zoo shops and guest houses for animals. And 10% of the proceeds will go to the needs of dogs and cats that find themselves without owners.
