How to organize a winter holiday in Italy with children skiing?

Ski slopes, steep slopes and hotels for every taste - all this you will find in the Superski Dolomites, the largest ski region in the world. This year there was an opportunity to relax on a winter vacation in the mountains.

Everyone knows that December is the time of preparation for Christmas and New Year. The time for choosing gifts for loved ones, decorating your own homes, meeting friends to exchange greetings, and walking around the Christmas markets. And also December is the beginning of the “white weeks” season (as the Italians call the winter holidays in the Alps), when the ski resorts come to life and meet the first skiers, athletes and just snow lovers. Italians go to the mountains to enjoy breathtaking slopes, long walks in the fresh air and wonderful cuisine combined with first-class service of local hotels.

Dolomites

Dolomites is one of Italians' favorite vacation spots, attracting both professional athletes and beginner skiers. On the slopes of varying degrees of difficulty, incredible mountain landscapes open their eyes, guests are offered only the most modern sports equipment, and in cozy local towns and villages you can find accommodation at any price level, from a simple holiday home to an elite five-star hotel.

  • Find a Hotel in Italian Dolomites

This ski paradise, thanks to the quality of service and the beauty of the landscape (the Dolomites were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List) is ideal for lovers of active winter holidays. In addition, the longest in Europe ski trail Dolomiti NordicSki with a length of 1300 km with guaranteed snow cover since December 23 is arranged here. The route passes through numerous villages and valleys in which winter tourism is remarkably developed. Among others, Alta Badia, Cortina d Ampecio, Valle Aurina, Valle Tires, Alpe di Susie and Val Gardena (l'Alta Badia, Cortina d'Ampezzo, le Valli di Tures e Aurina e l'Alpe di Siusi-Val Gardena).

Alta Pusteria Region

It should also be noted the Alta Pusteria region, which offers more than 200 km of cross-country ski runs, 77 km of slopes of varying degrees of difficulty, 5 toboggan tracks, 31 funiculars and a magnificent stadium for skiing. Alta Pusteria is part of the vast Dolomite Superski region, and there are regular cross-country skiing, such as the Tour de Ski World Cup, which is held annually in the town of Dobbiaco. Therefore, it is not surprising that Alta Pusteria is very popular among athletes, including due to the ability to choose tracks with different technical characteristics. Although it is still more popular to use routes with the best views of the mountains.

For those who decide to spend their winter holidays here, various special offers have been developed this year. Depending on your personal preferences, you can combine sports with relaxation in one of the many hotels in the region.

For athletes interested in cross-country skiing, the Alta Pusteria Tourism Association has developed a special offer including, among other things, a pass to the Dolomiti NordicSki. The full package consists of:

  • a week stay in a hotel (such as Bed & Breakfast or half board) or in an apartment for 2 or 4 people with the possibility of choosing among various accommodations in different villages of the valley (such as Sesto, Dobyako or San Candido),
  • passes for the Dolomiti NordicSki highway,
  • convenient SkiMobile Dolomites Card, which allows you to use all the trains and buses of the Alto Adige region for a week.

Upon checking into a hotel or apartment, along with a pass, the guest will be provided with a convenient map with all practical information about the tracks. The offer is valid from January 11 to February 1, 2019 and its price will be: from 215 € per person when staying in an inexpensive hotel or rural estate, from 245 € - in furnished rooms, and from 520 € per person when ordering an apartment.

For those who want to use the rich equipment of the valley to the maximum, advantageous offers have been formed, including both accommodation and skiing. For example, the Dolomites Ski Paradise package includes a vacation of 7 nights from January 7 to 25 in a hotel or apartment, supplemented by 6 days of skiing in the Dolomiti di Sesto / alta Pusteria. This means that guests have access to 77 km of tracks running through Monte Elmo, Croda Ross, Baranchi, Passo Croce, Waldheim, Dobyako, Braies and Comelico (Monte Elmo, Croda Rossa, Baranci, Passo Croce, Waldheim, Dobbiaco, Braies e nella skiarea Comelico), and equipped with 31 lifts. The package also includes the Ski Mobiles Dolomites Card. All this for 345 € with accommodation in a B&B, 543 € - in furnished rooms, and 773 € - in an apartment.

If someone wants to leave early, then he should pay attention to the Golden Ski Time package, which offers a free pass to the Dolomiti di Sesto / alta Pusteria for all booked hotels at least 4 days before December 24th. In this case, there is also a difference between staying in hotels, apartments or rented rooms. Nevertheless, all this can be reduced to an absolutely working minimum. Well, it would seem - words. There are thousands and thousands of words in every language, but there are statistics that say that 90 percent of spoken language in any language is in 300-400 words.
